5 My Healing Gift

I have a psychic gift – but it can only be used for one purpose, and that is to help people to grow spiritually. If a client requests my assistance, and my Guides agree that I can work with him, I have visions that assist him on his spiritual journey. I am able to induce trance states so that the client and I and I can simultaneously experience these visions together. The visions often contain symbols. If this is the case, I am given insights that explain their meaning. The information thus revealed is often instrumental in people’s growth.

The energy-field My gift also allows me to see inside of people’s bodies – or more specifically, within the energy-field that corresponds to the physical body. (The energy-body is also known as the energy-body, astral body, or body of light). The physical body draws its source from the energy-body, which is a field of conscious energy. The energy-body exists independent from the physical body, and continues after the material body ceases at death.

This energy-body contains thought-forms, emotions and beliefs that have a tremendous impact on our existence. Some of them are extremely empowering, and yet others can be detrimental to our emotional, physical, and spiritual health.1

Why are we endowed with this energy-body that persists from lifetime to lifetime? Because the memories that the energy body contains are important to our spiritual growth as our souls evolve from one incarnation to the next.

Many of the thought-forms from the energy body are stored in the unconscious. From there, if they are negative, or involve trauma, they can exert a harmful influence over our lives. However, when they are brought to conscious awareness, and the emotions that they evoke are fully processed, this harmful effect ceases, and can be transformed into healing.2 This inner work can greatly support our psycho-spiritual evolution.

Bringing negative ideations from the subconscious to conscious light to support psycho-spiritual growth is not a new idea. Since ancient times, spiritual aspirants have practiced deep introspection and meditation.3 These practices deepen our self-awareness so that more and more of our unconscious comes into the conscious field of our awareness. As we do this traumas from this, and past lives are released.

There are times, however, when in spite of our best efforts, we get stuck, and don’t know how to proceed. Or perhaps we have psychological or physical symptoms that persist even after all conventional means of treatment have failed. In these cases, the assistance of a psychotherapist or spiritual healer may be helpful.

But please understand that I am not saying that people should bypass conventional medical treatment in favor of “going to see a psychic.” Rather, I am saying that in some cases, a cure may require a holistic approach that includes the psycho-spiritual dimension. This can be addressed through psychotherapy, self-healing practices (such as deep mindfulness or meditation) or through working with a spiritual mentor or guide. The nature of my gift falls into that latter category. Addressing the psycho-spiritual causes of symptoms should be done in addition to not instead of traditional medical treatment.

During the healing sessions I give, people contact profound inner dimensions, and learn to access them at will. They have a direct experience of their soul and meet their spiritual Guides and protectors. These inner realities are the well-springs of healing. With the support of these energies, information may come forth that empowers them on their spiritual journey. This information may contain memories, unresolved traumas, or negative beliefs that are in some way obstructing the client’s healing and spiritual growth. Healing these issues allows them to move forward spiritually.

Although physical healing is not the goal of the sessions, it is often a welcome by-product as they attain psycho-spiritual wholeness. Among physical ailments thus cured have been terminal cancer, recurring symptoms of typhoid, acute liver failure, and in my own case (yes I practice this healing work on myself) a cure from a crippling back injury and a number of other conditions that the doctors said were “incurable.”

I never claim that the work can heal people of their physical maladies. That is not its purpose. However, these physical healings sometimes seem to be outward manifestations of a new-found inner wholeness. This wholeness results from contact with the soul and the universal field of love that exists all around us.
In the next chapter, I am going to explain how I discovered my gift and learned to share it with others.

Footnotes

  1. The energy body is the physical body’s non-physical analog. In some cases, healing a wrong belief or trauma held in the energy body can create dramatic healing even in conditions that seem to be unresponsive to conventional therapy. However, I must emphasize that in no way am I suggesting that people forgo conventional medical treatment. However, sometimes in addition to physical therapeutic measures, a more holistic approach is needed that addresses the psycho-spiritual dimension. ↩︎
  2. This is the basis of Freudian psychotherapeutic therapy. Some psychotherapists such as Brian Weiss MD, and Raymond Moody MD, PhD, have combined hypnosis with this technique to access past lives. This latter modality is known as past life regression therapy, or PLRT. ↩︎
  3. In the 2nd century BC, the Hindu scholar Patanjali wrote of a meditation technique used by practitioners to delve into the unconscious and remember past lives. The goal was to free consciousness from the burden of memories that were having a negative effect on one’s psycho spiritual evolution. The technique, called prati-prasav is still practiced by yogis to this day. ↩︎
