What is the true self? The true self is the soul. It shines bright, is perfectly at peace. It is endless love, endless joy; untouched by suffering and all the difficulties of life.
The soul is the source energy from which the psyche emerges at the beginning of life and returns to at its end. It is the origin of our life-force as well as the essence of our (non-egoic) self. As such, it is the quintessential power for the psyche’s healing and renewal; the ultimate fountainhead of psychospiritual integration.
When we experience our soul, we are emersed in bliss, and feel ourselves immeasurably strengthened. The soul is ever so close to the Divine. Its power to heal us is the power of love itself.
The soul exists beyond any consciousness of the ego. It experiences neither death nor birth. The Divine imbues every soul with unique qualities, which are the foundation of the individuated self. It is the doorway through which each one of us can experience the Divine.
Everyone has the ability to contact their soul, but most people have lost touch with theirs. This is because the soul is known through peace and stillness, and these are rare experiences in our hectic modern lives. Yet consciously experiencing one’s soul is not difficult. Doing so is one of the most rewarding experiences we can ever have.
