The Universal Law of Free Will
There are many planets and planes of existence in the Universe. Many different forms of conscious beings reside in them. Some live in physical bodies, while most inhabit bodies of etheric light. We people here on Earth are but one form of this infinitely varied consciousness.
All beings in the Universe, including ourselves, are growing spiritually according to our own unique natures. In order to do this, we must be free to make our own decisions with regards to our own consciousness.
We can’t always control our outer circumstance, but we do get to decide what feelings we hold onto in response to them. What thoughts, beliefs and feelings do we dwell upon? Will we choose love, or will we choose fear and anger? The choice we make will determine our spiritual destiny.
Because making these choices about our consciousness is so crucial to our spiritual evolution, it is essential that no outside party be allowed to interfere with this process. This is why there is the Law of Free Will, which is one of the most important principles governing the evolution of consciousness in the Universe. This law affirms that we have the right to make our own decisions about our own consciousness; and that no entity has the right to appropriate that process.
The freedom to grow spiritually and embrace the Divine is the birthright of all conscious beings. For this reason, all Divine Beings, such as Spiritual Guides, Angels, Saints and other Great Ones honor the Universal Law of Free Will.
However, the Universe is not only a place of Light, but also of darkness. There are less evolved beings, both on the etheric and physical level, that actively try to assert their will over our consciousness and usurp control over our thoughts. Some of these beings are dark and evil, and some are simply misguided, (as in people who are emotionally needy, manipulative, or psychologically ill). Whatever their motive, if such beings had their way, the Law of Free Will would be shattered, and the spiritual growth of those they interfere with would be virtually impossible.
One of the most important choices the Law of Free Will allows us to make concerns our relationship with the Divine. We can embrace the Divine, or we can turn our backs on the very Energy that created us.
More than anything else, the Divine yearns for our love. But It only wants it if we give it freely of our own accord. It is our ability to make this choice that gives love its meaning.
To safeguard this sacred right to choose, the Divine has offered us a way to protect ourselves from the interference of dark energies, no matter how powerful. That remedy is to request protection from our Spiritual Guides and the Beings of the Light. But to receive a response, this request must be sincere, and be made with all our heart and soul.
The decision to ask for the assistance of the Beings of the Light is a major milestone in our spiritual evolution. Awakening is not a passive act. It is the result of a conscious choice to turn to the Light, and the willingness to steadfastly commit to It above all other things.
We are all children of the Divine. The diversity of our natures is cherished by our Maker. Because of our different characters, the Divine appears differently to different people. Some experience It in a personified form such as Jesus, Buddha or the Divine Mother. Others through their passionate search for truth – a truth that is beyond the sufferings of life, death, loss, and disease. Infinitely varied are the natures of the Divine’s children; so also, are the ways It reaches out to us to touch our hearts.
